Events at MMK ::: MMK Frankfurt am Main

Events at MMK

Art creates communication. Particularly contemporary art responds to current topics and provides impulses for crossing boundaries and experiencing new things. Against this background, the MMK is conceived as a vibrant venue that aims to inspire its visitors to make discoveries and let themselves in for surprises.
The MMK is a forum for exchange. At three different locations – the MMK 1, MMK 2 and MMK 3 – the museum provides access to its unique collection in exceptional architectural surroundings and features major solo exhibitions of prominent artists as well as a diverse programme of events and activities. All in all a perfect setting for exclusive company gatherings and customer events.

Exclusive Tours at MMK 1|2|3

The art education team offers a diverse program. We will gladly tailor a program to your wishes and organize theme tours.  A group should not be bigger than 20 individuals. Special guided tours with the director or curators can also be organized upon request and availability.

The MMK 1

For the main building of the MMK – the MMK 1 –, the spatial expansion offers a long-desired means of presenting outstanding works from the collection on a permanent basis. In future, highlights and classics of international contemporary art will be at the disposal of the visitors in the post-modern architectural icon by Hans Hollein on a long-term basis. Works by Joseph Beuys, Alighiero Boetti, Hanne Darboven, Katharina Fritsch, Isa Genzken, Douglas Gordon, On Kawara, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Blinky Palermo, Gerhard Richter, Wolfgang Tillmans, Rosemarie Trockel and Andy Warhol are among the MMK’s crowd pullers that will now be continually accessible to the public.

The MMK 3

In the spacious, storeroom-like spaces of the new MMK 3 – a former Frankfurt customs building of the year 1927 in use by the museum until now as the MMK Zollamt – current developments in contemporary art are presented. The emphasis is on monographic exhibitions of remarkable artists from Germany and abroad whose work has hitherto had little presence in the German museum world.
