In the storeroom-like spaces of the MMK 3 – a former Frankfurt customs building of the year 1927 in use by the museum until now as the MMK Zollamt – current developments in contemporary art are presented. The emphasis lies in monographic exhibitions of remarkable artists from Germany and abroad whose work has hitherto had little presence in the German museum world. Group exhibitions with various thematic focusses are staged, and the MMK 3 is the venue of numerous cooperative projects. Exhibitions with graduates of the Städelschule art academy and the grant recipients of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation are as much a part of the program as symposia and lectures.
